A cold January morning in Hayfork Gully, An Teallach

Scotland winter 2021

At present, the whole of the Highlands will be in ‘Level 4’ until the 17th of January; essentially in lockdown. It’s anybody’s guess what will happen after this date. Despite all the uncertainty, life goes on and I’ll continue to take bookings for the 2nd half of the season. However, safety and social responsibility are paramount, so if events dictate that we have to cancel your booking, so be it. I’ll hand any deposit back, in full.

It’s going to be a good winter. Very cold, apparently.

This website

I’ve made this website live before it’s finished. I’m not sure whether that’s a good or bad thing. It’s a lockdown project that’s taken way way longer than anticipated. Getting pixels to stay where you want them to is the digital equivalent of herding cats. My head has been fried with coding and too much screen time, and those intense Divi tutorials on YouTube with the fella in the cable knit jumper… I need to take a break.

The previous site was a bit of an antique. It was slowly giving up the ghost and had become unreadable on tablets and mobiles. I tried to ignore the problem, like you do with a noisy wheel bearing on the van, but it only got worse with time.
